GTA 6 FiveM: Will FiveM Work With GTA VI?
Rockstar Games owns the team behind FiveM, but does that mean GTA 6 will support FiveM and roleplay servers? Here’s what we actually know.
Will FiveM work with GTA 6?
FiveM support for GTA 6 has not been announced. FiveM currently works with Grand Theft Auto V on PC, and neither Rockstar Games nor Cfx.re has confirmed that FiveM will support GTA VI.
There is a very important connection, however: Rockstar Games owns Cfx.re, the team behind FiveM.
Rockstar acquired Cfx.re in 2023 after GTA roleplay became a huge part of the GTA V community. Rockstar said the partnership would help Cfx.re find new ways to support its community and improve the services it provides to developers and players.
That makes FiveM and GTA 6 an obvious combination, but until Rockstar or Cfx.re announces GTA VI support, nobody can say exactly what GTA 6 roleplay will look like.

What is FiveM?
FiveM is a platform that allows players to join customised multiplayer servers built around Grand Theft Auto V on PC.
Instead of being limited to the standard GTA Online experience, FiveM servers can provide their own gameplay systems, communities and rules. This flexibility helped create the modern GTA RP scene.
Roleplay servers use these systems to let players create characters and live within persistent communities. Depending on the server, players can become police officers, criminals, business owners, mechanics, medics and almost anything else the server’s developers have created.
NoPixel is the most famous example, but there are many different GTA RP servers built around the FiveM ecosystem.
Does Rockstar own FiveM?
Yes. Rockstar Games acquired Cfx.re in August 2023. Cfx.re is the team behind both FiveM for Grand Theft Auto V and RedM for Red Dead Redemption 2.
The acquisition was particularly significant because FiveM began as a community platform outside Rockstar’s official GTA Online service.
Rockstar now officially recognises roleplay and community servers supported through the Cfx.re platform, alongside its own official GTA Online service.
That doesn’t tell us what will happen with GTA VI, but it means the technology and team responsible for the biggest GTA roleplay platform are now inside Rockstar Games rather than operating independently.
Will there be a new FiveM for GTA 6?
Possibly, but nothing has been announced.
There are several ways Rockstar and Cfx.re could approach GTA VI. FiveM could eventually be updated to support GTA 6, Cfx.re could build a separate platform specifically for GTA VI, or Rockstar could integrate community and roleplay functionality more directly into its own services.
All three possibilities are speculation at this point.
What we do know is that Rockstar has publicly said it wants community-created roleplay experiences to continue to thrive, while its acquisition of Cfx.re gives it direct control of the technology behind the current FiveM ecosystem.
What is SixM?
You may see the name SixM used online when people discuss a possible GTA 6 replacement for FiveM.
There is currently no officially announced Cfx.re product called SixM for GTA VI. The name is an obvious play on FiveM and GTA 6, but it should not be confused with a confirmed Rockstar or Cfx.re platform.
If Cfx.re announces a dedicated GTA VI platform in the future, we’ll update this page with the official name and details.
Why GTA 6 FiveM isn’t available yet
The biggest reason is simple: GTA VI hasn’t launched yet.
GTA VI is scheduled for November 19, 2026, and Rockstar currently describes the launch version as a single-player experience for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
FiveM, meanwhile, is a PC platform built around GTA V. Rockstar has not currently announced a PC version of GTA VI. We’ve covered why that matters for roleplay in our GTA 6 RP on PC guide.
That creates two major unanswered questions: when GTA VI will come to PC, and what tools Rockstar and Cfx.re will provide for community multiplayer and roleplay.
Will GTA 6 FiveM be on PS5 or Xbox?
There is no announced FiveM support for GTA 6 on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S.
The current FiveM platform is designed for PC rather than consoles. GTA VI, however, is initially launching on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
This is one reason Rockstar’s ownership of Cfx.re is so interesting. A future Rockstar-supported roleplay system would not necessarily have to work exactly like today’s FiveM.
For now, though, there is no evidence that console players will be able to use FiveM with GTA VI. See our GTA 6 RP on PS5 and Xbox guide for the console situation in more detail.
What happens to GTA V FiveM when GTA 6 launches?
There is currently no reason to expect FiveM for GTA V to suddenly disappear when GTA VI launches.
GTA V has an enormous established roleplay ecosystem with servers, developers, custom scripts and communities that have been built over many years.
A GTA VI roleplay ecosystem, if one emerges, will also take time to develop. Servers such as NoPixel contain huge amounts of custom technology and content that cannot simply be assumed to transfer to another game.
It’s therefore entirely possible that GTA V roleplay and any future GTA VI RP scene will exist alongside one another for a considerable period.
Will NoPixel use FiveM for GTA 6?
NoPixel has not announced a GTA VI server or confirmed what technology it would use if it eventually moves into GTA 6.
NoPixel does, however, now have a direct relationship with Rockstar Games through NoPixel V, while Rockstar owns Cfx.re.
That makes NoPixel particularly important to watch, but it still doesn’t amount to confirmation of a GTA VI server.
Read our NoPixel GTA 6 guide for everything currently known about NoPixel, NoPixel V and GTA VI.
What does FiveM mean for GTA 6 RP?
FiveM is probably the biggest reason there is so much interest in GTA 6 roleplay before GTA VI has even launched.
When GTA V launched in 2013, Rockstar did not own the platform that would eventually power many of its biggest roleplay communities. When GTA VI launches in 2026, it will.
That doesn’t guarantee FiveM support, GTA VI community servers or GTA 6 RP. It does mean Rockstar enters the GTA VI generation with the Cfx.re team and years of experience from the FiveM roleplay ecosystem already inside the company.
If community servers eventually arrive, we’ll track confirmed projects on our GTA 6 RP servers page. For the wider picture, see our GTA 6 RP guide.
