GTA 6 RP: Everything We Know

GTA 6 RP: Everything We Know About GTA VI Roleplay

Will GTA 6 have roleplay servers? Here’s what Rockstar has actually confirmed, what we know about FiveM and NoPixel, and what GTA VI could mean for the future of GTA RP.

PC is particularly important to the future of GTA roleplay because today’s FiveM ecosystem is PC-based. We’ve broken down the situation in our GTA 6 RP on PC guide, including the PC release situation, FiveM and what would need to happen before traditional GTA RP could move to GTA VI.

Last updated: August 2026. Rockstar Games has not announced GTA 6 RP, GTA 6 Online or a version of FiveM for GTA 6. GTA VI itself launches on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and Rockstar currently describes the game launching in November as a single-player experience.

That doesn’t mean GTA roleplay is going away. Quite the opposite: Rockstar Games now owns Cfx.re, the team behind FiveM and RedM, and has publicly committed to supporting the roleplay community. That makes the future of GTA RP one of the most interesting questions surrounding GTA 6.

Will GTA 6 have RP?

GTA 6 roleplay has not yet been officially confirmed. There are currently no official GTA 6 RP servers and Rockstar has not announced that FiveM will support GTA VI.

There is, however, a very good reason GTA players are expecting roleplay to remain important in the GTA 6 era.

In August 2023, Rockstar Games acquired Cfx.re, the team responsible for FiveM and RedM. FiveM is the platform that powers much of the modern GTA V roleplay scene, including many of the servers and communities that helped turn GTA RP into a huge category on Twitch.

When announcing the acquisition, Rockstar specifically highlighted dedicated roleplay servers and said that working with Cfx.re would allow it to find new ways to support the roleplay community and improve the services available to developers and players.

What Rockstar and Cfx.re have not said is just as important: there is currently no confirmed GTA VI version of FiveM and no announced GTA 6 RP release date.

Will FiveM work with GTA 6?

We don’t know yet. FiveM currently provides custom multiplayer servers for GTA V on PC. Rockstar’s ownership of Cfx.re makes the future relationship between GTA VI and the FiveM platform particularly interesting, but it does not mean existing FiveM servers will automatically work with GTA 6.

GTA VI is a different game, and any future roleplay platform would need support specifically designed for it. Rockstar and Cfx.re could extend FiveM, create something new, or take GTA roleplay in another direction entirely.

Until either company announces its plans, claims that GTA 6 will definitely have FiveM — or a supposed replacement sometimes referred to by fans as “SixM” — should be treated as speculation. You can follow everything we know so far in our GTA 6 FiveM guide.

Will NoPixel be on GTA 6?

NoPixel has not announced a GTA 6 server.

There is nevertheless a major connection between NoPixel and Rockstar. In September 2025, NoPixel announced NoPixel V, a new roleplay project being created in collaboration with Rockstar Games.

NoPixel V should not be confused with a confirmed GTA 6 version of NoPixel. NoPixel itself currently describes the project as the latest stage in its roleplay platform, following NoPixel 4.0, and has announced hundreds of creators for the project.

The collaboration is significant, though. NoPixel is one of the biggest names in GTA roleplay, and a direct relationship between NoPixel and Rockstar shows just how far GTA RP has moved from its origins as an unofficial modding community.

We’re tracking the relationship separately in our NoPixel GTA 6 guide.

Are there GTA 6 RP servers?

No. There are currently no GTA 6 RP servers. GTA VI hasn’t been released yet and no official framework for creating GTA 6 roleplay servers has been announced.

Websites, Discord communities or social media accounts advertising future GTA 6 RP servers may be communities preparing for the game, but they are not currently running actual GTA VI roleplay servers.

When real GTA 6 RP servers become available, GTA Genius will maintain a directory covering the major servers, how to join them, application requirements and the streamers playing on them. Until then, our GTA 6 RP server list tracks what has actually been announced.

GTA 6 RP streamers

There can’t be any genuine GTA 6 RP streams yet because GTA VI hasn’t launched and GTA VI roleplay doesn’t currently exist.

GTA Genius already tracks GTA roleplay streams on Twitch. When GTA VI becomes available on Twitch — and if a GTA 6 RP ecosystem emerges — we’ll use live Twitch data to show GTA 6 RP streamers while they’re actually online. See our GTA 6 RP streamers page for the creators we’re watching.

Will GTA 6 RP be available on PS5 and Xbox?

There is currently no confirmation that GTA 6 RP will be available on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S.

This is an important distinction because GTA VI itself launches on consoles first, while the current FiveM GTA V roleplay platform is PC-based.

If Rockstar builds roleplay functionality directly into a future GTA VI online experience, console roleplay could potentially work very differently from today’s FiveM servers. For now, however, Rockstar has announced neither GTA VI Online nor GTA VI RP, so there is no confirmed console RP support. We’ve covered this in more detail in our GTA 6 RP on PS5 and Xbox guide.

When will GTA 6 RP be released?

There is no GTA 6 RP release date.

Grand Theft Auto VI releases on November 19, 2026, but Rockstar has explicitly described the game launching on that date as a single-player experience.

We therefore shouldn’t assume that a GTA VI multiplayer or roleplay ecosystem will launch alongside the main game. GTA V provides some historical context: Grand Theft Auto V launched on September 17, 2013, while GTA Online followed on October 1. FiveM and the modern GTA RP scene developed considerably later.

GTA VI could follow a completely different schedule. For the latest timeline, see our dedicated GTA 6 RP release date page.

How does GTA RP work today?

GTA RP turns Grand Theft Auto into a persistent roleplaying environment. Instead of simply playing GTA Online, players join dedicated servers and take on characters with their own personalities, jobs, relationships and stories.

Many GTA V roleplay servers run through FiveM. Individual communities can create their own rules, scripts, jobs, police systems, economies, vehicles and other custom features.

NoPixel is the best-known example and helped push GTA RP to a massive audience through Twitch and YouTube. Other communities range from heavily controlled application-only servers to more accessible public GTA RP servers.

You can explore the GTA RP server list or see which GTA RP streamers are live while we wait to find out what the next generation of GTA roleplay looks like.

What GTA 6 could mean for roleplay

GTA roleplay is in a very different position today than it was when GTA V launched. FiveM has grown into a major platform, RP became one of the most watched forms of GTA content on Twitch, and the team behind FiveM is now part of Rockstar Games itself.

Rockstar has also established a direct collaboration with NoPixel, one of the communities most closely associated with the growth of GTA RP.

Those facts make it reasonable to expect roleplay to remain important to the wider Grand Theft Auto community. They do not, however, tell us exactly how Rockstar intends to support RP in GTA VI.

That’s the question we’ll be following.
