GTA 6 RP on PS5 & Xbox

GTA 6 RP on PS5 & Xbox: Will Console Roleplay Be Possible?

GTA VI launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, but today’s FiveM roleplay servers are PC-only. So will console players finally get GTA RP?

Will GTA 6 RP be on PS5 and Xbox?

Rockstar Games has not announced GTA 6 RP for PS5 or Xbox Series X|S. In fact, GTA VI roleplay itself has not yet been officially announced.

What makes the question particularly interesting is that GTA VI launches on consoles first, while the existing GTA V roleplay ecosystem is overwhelmingly based around FiveM on PC.

Cfx.re explicitly states that the current FiveM client is developed exclusively for the PC versions of Grand Theft Auto V and that there are no plans to bring FiveM to PlayStation or Xbox.

That means you cannot currently play FiveM GTA RP on PS5 or Xbox. Whether Rockstar creates a different solution for GTA VI remains unknown.

Last updated: August 2026. Rockstar currently describes GTA VI as a single-player experience. No GTA VI multiplayer, roleplay or community-server system has yet been announced.

Can you play FiveM on PS5?

No. FiveM does not run on PlayStation 5.

The FiveM client is currently built specifically for GTA V on PC. There is no PlayStation version of the FiveM client and Cfx.re says there are no plans for console support.

This also applies to PlayStation 4. Although GTA V itself is available on PlayStation consoles, the custom FiveM servers used by communities such as NoPixel require the PC version of the game.

Can you play FiveM on Xbox?

No. FiveM does not run on Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One.

As with PlayStation, the current FiveM client only supports GTA V on PC.

You may see Xbox or Microsoft accounts mentioned in relation to Cfx.re accounts, but this does not mean the FiveM client works on an Xbox console.

Why isn’t FiveM available on consoles?

FiveM works very differently from simply joining a normal GTA Online session.

FiveM connects the PC version of GTA V to community-run servers that can use extensive custom resources, scripts and gameplay systems. These servers are what allow communities to create the detailed police departments, economies, businesses, jobs and character systems associated with modern GTA RP.

The current FiveM client was developed specifically around the PC version of GTA V and has never been released as a console application.

Could GTA 6 change console roleplay?

Potentially. This is where GTA VI becomes much more interesting than simply asking whether the existing FiveM client will appear on consoles.

Rockstar Games acquired Cfx.re, the team behind FiveM and RedM, in 2023. Rockstar now officially recognises Cfx.re-supported community and roleplay servers.

That means Rockstar enters the GTA VI generation owning the team responsible for the technology behind much of today’s GTA roleplay ecosystem.

If Rockstar decides to build community servers or roleplay features directly into a future GTA VI multiplayer experience, it could theoretically design those systems with consoles in mind from the beginning.

But Rockstar has not announced that it is doing this. Until we hear otherwise, GTA 6 RP on consoles remains a possibility rather than a confirmed feature.

Will GTA 6 have FiveM on console?

There is currently no reason to expect the existing FiveM client itself to appear on PS5 or Xbox.

Cfx.re says FiveM is exclusively developed for the PC versions of GTA V and has no plans for console support.

The bigger question is whether Cfx.re and Rockstar eventually create a new GTA VI community platform rather than simply adapting today’s FiveM.

There has been no announcement of such a platform. You can follow everything we currently know in our GTA 6 FiveM guide.

Will NoPixel be playable on PS5 or Xbox?

NoPixel is currently a PC GTA roleplay community. You cannot join the existing NoPixel GTA V servers from PlayStation or Xbox.

NoPixel is particularly interesting for the future because its new NoPixel V project is being created in collaboration with Rockstar Games.

However, NoPixel has not announced a GTA VI server and there is currently no announcement that NoPixel will become playable on consoles.

See our NoPixel GTA 6 guide for the latest information.

Could PS5 and Xbox get their own GTA 6 RP servers?

It’s possible, but anything more specific would currently be speculation.

There are several ways Rockstar could approach GTA VI multiplayer and roleplay. It could continue with PC-focused community servers similar to FiveM, build community-server functionality directly into GTA VI, provide different features on PC and console, or create something completely new.

Rockstar has not revealed which, if any, of these approaches it intends to take.

If community servers do become available, our GTA 6 RP server list will track genuine servers and their platform support.

Will GTA 6 RP come to PC?

A PC version of GTA VI has not yet been officially announced.

Rockstar currently lists only PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S for the November 19, 2026 launch.

This matters for roleplay because today’s FiveM ecosystem is PC-based. If GTA VI eventually receives a PC release, that would remove one obvious obstacle to a future GTA VI community-server platform.

However, a PC version of GTA VI would not automatically mean FiveM or GTA VI RP support. Those would still require Rockstar and Cfx.re to provide the necessary platform.

We’ve covered the PC side separately in our GTA 6 RP on PC guide, including the missing PC release date and why PC matters so much to traditional FiveM-style roleplay.

When could GTA 6 RP arrive on console?

There is no GTA 6 RP release date for PS5, Xbox or any other platform.

GTA VI launches on November 19, 2026, but Rockstar has not announced a roleplay platform or GTA VI community servers for launch.

For the current timeline and what would need to happen before GTA VI roleplay becomes available, see our GTA 6 RP release date guide.

How can console players play GTA RP now?

You cannot join genuine FiveM servers such as NoPixel from PS5 or Xbox.

Some console players organise roleplay sessions using GTA Online’s existing features and private communities, but these are fundamentally different from FiveM servers. They don’t have access to the same custom server-side scripts and systems that define the major PC GTA RP communities.

For the full current GTA V RP experience, FiveM requires GTA V and a compatible Windows PC.

What we know about GTA 6 RP on console

The important distinction is between what exists today and what Rockstar could build for GTA VI.

Today, FiveM is PC-only. GTA VI launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. GTA VI RP has not been announced.

But Rockstar now owns Cfx.re, which means the company has much closer ties to the roleplay ecosystem than it did when GTA V launched.

Whether that ultimately results in GTA 6 RP for PS5 and Xbox is one of the biggest unanswered questions surrounding the future of GTA roleplay.

See GTA 6 RP: Everything We Know for the complete picture, or check our GTA 6 RP server list for the current server status.
